I don't know why I didn't post this sooner. It always puts me in a good mood. It's Peter Gabriel of Genesis fame with Hot Chip covering Vampire Weekend's "Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa."
Also, today on Jambase (cough) I came accross this article. Apparently Gabriel will be releasing an album in January that has covers of Bon Iver, Radiohead, Neil Young, Paul Simon, etc. Should be pretty good.
OK, stay with me for a second. The soundtrack to the new Twilight movie has some big names and decent songs. The way I see it, we have three options: (1) We could go see the movie. Next. (2) We could go buy the CD. Problem is the Twilight people still get your money. Or (3) we recreate the list on Grooveshark and stream the fucker for free! Uh, yeah.
Now I am not endorsing every song on here. I simply added every track in the correct order - as far as I know anyways. And no I'm not willing to bet money on track orders with you sheisters (spelling?). Anyways, give it a listen. Who knows, one week from today ole McDeeshai could be pounding his fist to it and speaking ebonics. Rusty - Let me know how the movie turns out.
As you know, I purchased a few extra tickets to this now sold out show. Below is the list of people that I know want a ticket. Let me know if you or a companion would like to be added to/removed from the list so I can hock the rest at an unreasonable price. After fees and shipping the tix were about $20 each.
Paul Jim Scott Jason
Still waiting on confirmation from the Brothers O'Connor, Mrs. Turner, Eric (probably not, right?) and our other acquaintances. Let me know within the next week or two.
Here is a link to "Volcano Choir," a song recently released by Justin Vernon's new side project. I am guessing that Jason will get the biggest kick out of it since it sounds a lot like Coldplay.
Follow the link below to a cool little internet video series called "Breakfast at Sulimay's." It features 3 adorable octogenarians sitting around a coffe shop reviewing different artists, including Animal Collective (Episode # 16), Andrew Bird (#17), and Bon Iver (#18). Some of them are pretty funny.
