El Ten Eleven

From their self-titled debut, released in 2004. For the most part (I have no idea where "Central Nervous Piston" came from), strong post-rock influences (like Album Leaf) can be heard emerging out of a more traditional west coast vibe.

The album was just re-released in vinyl, and it's just been bumpted to the top of my Vintage Vinyl list. Favorites so far include "My Only Swerving," "Lorge" and "Fanshawe." On repeat all day today at work. Haven't been able to check out their newer stuff yet, but if you're so inclined, check them out on MySpace.

  2. Btw......."My Only Swerving" is a line from a William Stafford poem titled "Traveling through the Dark." A goodie. Read the poem here: http://www.poets.org/viewmedia.php/prmMID/16217
