Looks like western Kentucky, about 8 years from now is the place to be. For about 2 min and 40 seconds that is. If we aren't tied down by then, it might be in our best interest.
I wholeheartedly second Mr. Munthun's Dark Side of the Moon party. Let's get a cabin out in the middle of nowhere, stock it with all the necessary pro-visions, and celebrate the temporary lunar victory over an otherwise dominant solar administration.
By the by, my choice to frame the eclipse in terms of victory was a knee-jerk and comical one. Most of the time, I don't mind the sun. More often than not, I thirst for it like Sunny-D. But every once in a while you've got to root for the underdog, you have to relish wahoo! over aha!. You know?
Countdown to bewitching hour...8 years, 4 months and 1 day. Set your watches accordingly.
