To rusty...
What would you think about having our own little best albums of 2009. Kind of like how pitchfork does, but shanty style. Everyone puts in their top five and someone can tally up the results to have our winners. I think it would be kinda fun. The question is, however, do you think it will be fun?

ReplyDeleteYou know I'm all four all things Shanty. And I particularly like the cut of your jib on this one. I've got many thoughts.
But for starters, if Phish's new album doesn't make at least top 3, I'm gonna take a piece of paper and slice someone on the nipple. Punch them in the eye, I will.
How about everyone submits their top 5 albums as a post? Just be sure to TAG the sucker SHANTY TOP 5. Submissions will no longer be accepted after let's say...Dec. 25, 2009. That way we'll have a week or so to celebrate the Top Fived'ness of the greatest albums of '09. We can even make a playlist or something.
Please feel free to make your case (however belligerently) with your submissions. You may even be able to convince some of the weaker minded to join your cause.
One second thought, I like Scott's tag. BEST OF 2009 MUSIC.
